About Us
In April of 2011, Matt Gregory, Steven Pond, and Gabriel Gonzales, partners and co-owners of Kornerstone Funeral Homes in Tulia and Plainview, Texas, purchased Adams Funeral Homes. It is an honor and privilege for us at Kornerstone Funeral Homes to continue a long-standing legacy of service at Adams Funeral Homes.
We at Adams Funeral Home believe that funeral directing is a ministry that is even more meaningful when you can help friends and neighbors you care about, offering hope and healing in a time of pain and loss.
We would not attempt to do anything apart from Him who is our Rock and foundation, including our daily work and service to families. With a firm foundation built on God’s leadership, direction, support, and love, we endeavor to serve the families of Ralls, Crosbyton, and Lorenzo as a ministry and a calling to the glory and honor of Christ, who is our chief cornerstone.
History
Adams Funeral Home, then known as Marr Funeral Home, was established in the 1920's, first in conjunction with a furniture store, as was customary of that time. In 1950, Mr. & Mrs. Marr became partners with Millard and Fredda Carter and together built a new facility at the present location of 520 Watts in Ralls, Texas. In 1953, Mr. Carter became the sole owner and changed the name to Carter Funeral Home.
Allan Adams came to work for the Carters as a recent graduate of mortuary school in 1964. Nine years later, he became a partner and, in 1984, Allan and his wife Gail became owners. The name of the funeral home was changed from Carter-Adams Funeral Home to Adams Funeral Home in 1995.
In April of 2011, the torch was passed once again to partners Matt Gregory, Steven Pond, and Gabriel Gonzales, owners of Kornerstone Funeral Homes in Tulia and Plainview, Texas.
It is an honor and a privilege for us at Kornerstone Funeral Homes to continue such a proud legacy of service. For almost a century, Adams Funeral Home has served the people in Crosby County and the surrounding area. It is our goal to carry on the tradition of unsurpassed service to families that Gail and Allan Adams, the Carters, and the Marrs laid before us.
