Obituary

William Kent Baskin Jr. (Bill) completed his courageous race on this earth after bravely battling ALS. His unwavering faith sustained him throughout his journey, and he was so eager to share his testimony of God's faithfulness in his weakness. Now he finds wholeness and peace in the precious arms of Jesus.

Bill was a devoted and loving husband for 44 beautiful years to Denise.  As a father to Brandi and husband Shane, Kerri and husband Jason, Leslie and husband Rob, and Lori and husband Jerry, he fostered deep faith, love, and wisdom through his steadfast example and guidance. One of his favorite roles was being "Pop Pop" to his 12 grandchildren: Jayci, Kylee, Emily, Tytan, Beau, Jude, Ryan, Rhett, Rolf, Katelyn, Dahlia, and Violet. They brought him immense joy, and his fondest moments were spent outdoors with them on "adventures" including riding bikes, playing games, and spending time at the beach.  There was always an abundance of laughter when Pop Pop was involved! For over two decades he influenced countless lives as an educator, and truly had a passion for helping students feel valued and successful. He also enjoyed traveling across the country, with various family co-pilots, seeing sights and making precious memories.

Bill also deeply loved his siblings and nieces and nephews. He is survived by his brother Allen Baskin (Becky), sister Elaine Linton, and sister Lisa Powers (George).  He is preceded in death by his cherished parents, Bill and Luris Baskin.

Bill's legacy is not merely measured by years but by the love he shared, the knowledge he imparted, and the memories he created.

Bill had requested in lieu of flowers any memorial gifts be made to West Texas ALS Support Group, Lubbock Community ALS Support Group.
