Welda Lanell Cook, 61, of Ralls passed away Wednesday August 19, 2015. Welda was born on August 31, 1953 in Littlefield, Texas to Weldon and Helen (Sims) Barton. She married John Cook on May 24, 1974 in Lubbock, TX. She was a wonderful mother with a huge heart, always giving of herself and putting others first, especially her children. Welda was a firm believer in the value and importance of an education, and adored being a teacher.

Welda was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Helen Barton.

She is survived by her husband John Cook of Ralls; two daughters Christy Williamson and husband Richard of Naples; Cassy Cook-Felts and husband Will of Lubbock; her son; Caleb Cook and wife Cherry of Lubbock; her brother; Craig Barton of Christoval; two sisters; Debbie Haberer of Burnet; Karen Tunnell of Lubbock; one grandchild; Macon Williamson.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Ralls, with Rev. T.J. Messer officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
