Wanda Faye Campbell 92, passed away January 26, 2023. She was born September 24, 1930 in Haskell County to Posy Odell and Jessie Mae Mullins Amonett. Wanda and her family moved to Crosby County in 1936 where she attended Ralls High School, and met the love of her life Arvil Lee Campbell, they were married July 3, 1948 in Crosbyton at the Methodist Church parsonage and were married for 74 wonderful years. Wanda loved farming and living on the farm, she would often help Arvil with the farming duties; she was a gardener and loved growing tomatoes. She was instrumental in getting the farmers market started in Lubbock, and would teach her grandchildren how to weigh and sell the the produce. Wanda was active in the Lorenzo Study Club, the Texas Farmers Union, and was a Daughter of the Republic of Texas. She also provided a home for foster children for the Children's Home of Lubbock. Wanda was very active in sports when she was younger and loved watching and supporting her grandchildren in later years. She was a very big supporter of Texas Tech and Lubbock Christian Universities. She and Arvil were avid fishermen. They enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada with friends. One of her favorite things to do was going to Ruidoso with her family and watching the horse races.
Wanda Faye is preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are; her husband Arvil Lee Campbell of Lubbock, two daughters, Arvilla Lanett James and husband John of Lubbock, Deborah Faye Cole and husband Darrell of Lubbock, one brother Clifford Gaylon Amonett and wife Margaret of Lubbock, one sister Marjorie Ann Reynolds of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Dustin Cole and wife Julie, Daniel Cole and wife Rene, Jason James and wife Amber, Whitney Cambron and husband Josh; seven great- grandchildren, Bella Cole, Scarlett Cole, Amanda DeLa Cruz, Jonah Cambron, Callie Cambron, Jewel James, Jax James.
Family will accept visitors at the Adams Funeral Home of Ralls Monday January 30, 2023 from 4:30-6:00. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday January 31, 2023 at the Quaker Ave. Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Ralls Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Lubbock Visitation will be held before the service from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at the Quaker Ave. Church of Christ.Online condolences can be made at www.adamsfuneral.com .
