Vida Jo Smith 87, of Crosbyton passed away Saturday July 8, 2017 in Lubbock. Vida Jo Smith was born on January 27, 1930, in Acuff Texas to Ben and Willie Sherrod Askew. She married Willie Ferrin Smith on May 10, 1948 in Lubbock TX. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1994.
Vida Jo Smith was a member of Crosbyton First Baptist Church. A member and past worthy matron of order of eastern star Crosbyton Chapter 891. She was a mother advisor for Rainbow girls in Crosbyton for several years.
She was preceded in death by her two parents and her husband.
She is survived by her daughter; Brenda Jordan of Crosbyton, two sons; Wayne Smith of Providence, Benjie Smith of Crosbyton, a brother; James Askew of Commerce, a sister; Peggy Scroggins of Commerce, 8 grandchildren, and 18 great grand children.
Visitation will be Friday July 14 from 6-7 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Crosbyton. Burial will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. The family of Vida Jo Smith would like to thank the Kindred Hospice and Abiding Care Assistant Living for the loving care they gave Vida in her final days.
