Vera Mae Pierce 92, of Crosbyton passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025. She was born on August 4, 1932, in Hill County to Marvin Upchurch and Maggie Dennis.

Vera was a hairdresser for approximately 20 years and was a church secretary for the Assembly of God for over 25 years. She served on the Women's Missionary Council for several years and was a person with the spiritual gift of helps, she delivered meals for senior citizens; she volunteered to take friends to doctor's appointments and was always willing to take food to the sick. Vera will be missed dearly by her friends and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Pierce; her parents; three brothers, Ray, Felix and Melvin Upchurch; and one sister, Juanita Cutts.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Judy Edwards of Crosbyton, Tommy Reese and wife Tammy of Buffalo, Linda Wheeler and husband Pete of Crosbyton, Jim Pierce and wife Traci of Pearland, Carolyn Moran and husband Steve of Midwest City, OK, and Teri Pierce of Lubbock. A brother William Upchurch and wife Betty of Crosbyton. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
