Vandy Nelson, 80, passed away on March 31, 2026. He was born July 12, 1945 in Clifton, TX to Lee and Bernice Nelson.

Vandy wore several hats over the years. He was a farmer, roofer, and car salesman to name a few. He also owned and operated an ice cream truck and a pest control business. He loved gardening, tractors and visiting with friends.

He is survived by two sons, Charles and Lawrence Nelson both of Lubbock; one daughter, Georgia Howard of Lubbock; two sisters, Joyce (last name) and Patricia (last name); and three grandchildren, Colby, Carly and Brayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jimmy Nelson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
