Troy Dell "Smokey" Poteet was born September 16, 1947 in Crosbyton, TX. He was

called home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 30, 2025. Smokey was preceded

in death by his parents Odell and Willie Fay (Wilson) Poteet.

He is survived by his children Chery Reimer (Shane) of Amarillo, TX, Jon David Poteet

(Alexandra) of Prosper, TX and Katie Johnson of Gainsville, TX. Smokey was a cherished

and loving grandfather to Evan and Rex Reimer and Lucas, Henry and Max Poteet. He

will be deeply missed by his sisters Mary Nell Thomas of Lubbock, TX, Rita Jernigan

(Larry) of Weatherford, TX, Nita Vincent (Durwood) of Lubbock, TX and Jackie Clines

(Tony) of McGregor, TX.

Smokey was an avid golfer and baseball lover. He especially enjoyed going to Texas Tech

baseball games. He will be missed by all who were blessed to be a part of his life.

The family would like to sincerely thank everyone for the kind words, prayers and gestures

of love and support they received during this time.

Funeral: Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10:00 am at the chapel at Ralls Cemetery.
