Tommy J. Roberts, 91, of Lubbock passed away Friday, July 26, 2024. He was born June 18, 1933 in Crosbyton, TX to Elzie and Minnie Dunn Roberts. He proudly served his country in the US Army, and then went on to earn his bachelors degree from Wayland Baptist University. Tommy married Koleta Stark on June 9, 1958 in Ralls, TX. She preceded him in death in 1996. He retired from the Lubbock Police Department in 1987 after 25 years of service.

He is survived by two sons, Kelly Roberts and wife Debra of Lake Alan Henry, and Steve Stephens and wife Saundra of Ft Worth; step-children Lynnda Olsen and husband Warren, Diana Saunders and husband Bob, Korey Hensley and husband Buddy of Lindsborg Kansas; one brother-in-law, Aubrey Stark and wife Jacque; several nieces and nephews, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sons, Tommy Alan Roberts and Tommy Mike Stephens.

His family gives special thanks to all of the staff at Legacy at South Plains for all of their love and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in his honor to Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of your choice.
