Tommy McGee 86 of Lubbock and formerly of Lorenzo passed away Sunday July 16, 2017. He was born January 24, 1931 in Lorenzo Texas to Glen and Lois Bowers McGee. He met the love of his life Roberta Guess and he married her on December 20, 1956 in Clovis New Mexico. Tommy was Mayor of Lorenzo from 1973-1976. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening but his true passion was his family and spending time with them. He was a devoted Christian and loved his Lord dearly.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Fred McGee.
Tommy leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years Roberta of Lubbock, two daughters; Celeste Taylor and husband Bryan of Lubbock, and Candace Bowdoin of Colorado, one sister; Ginger Jordan of Lorenzo. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Chancey Kelsey Etter and husband Corey, Robbie Thomas Kelsey and wife Summer, Collyn Ray Kelsey and Jordan, Racheal Sue Vincent, Brittney Moreno, and Brooklyn Taylor. His great grandchildren; Tyler, Justin, Tommy 2, Wyatt, Kade, Gabby, Blake, Davis, and two more on the way as well as nieces and nephews that he loved as his own.
Services will be held 11.00 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral home of Lorenzo. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Lorenzo.
