Tiodoro "Lolo" Rojas Sr., 80, of Lubbock, formerly of Lorenzo, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Lubbock. He was born December 9, 1935 in Rosebud, Texas to Martin and Pabla (Govea) Rojas.
Even as he owned and ran Rojas Garage & Salvage for 20 years, he made time to make the community he loved better as a life-long member at San Lorenzo Catholic Church. He volunteered as a sponsor for the Catholic Youth Organization, helped construct the San Lorenzo Mission building and San Lorenzo Catholic Church and he also helped establish St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls, TX. He was known as a strong advocate for fair farm labor laws and attended a national convention to learn more and help continue to address this very issue.
Lolo was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; Mike, Lino, Gonzalo, and Juvencio Rojas; and two sisters; Manuela Rivera and Margarito Alonzo.
He is survived by his 10 children: Rachel Rojas; Tiodoro Rojas Jr. and wife Ester; Ruby Garza and husband Santos; Roberto Rojas and wife Carmen; Pablo Rojas and wife Rose; Carlos Rojas and wife Velma; Tony Rojas and wife Angie; Patricia Rojas; Kathy Rojas; and Ramona Rojas; twenty grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
