Obituary

Joel Shawn Hart, 48, of Dickens passed away at home, surrounded by family, on March 23, 2020.

Shawn was born June 15, 1971 to Thomas and Marilyn (Adcock) Hart in Lubbock, TX. He was a 1989 graduate of Shallowater High School. He married Amy Marshall on November 11, 1989 in Spur. Shawn loved to cowboy and team rope, and enjoyed fishing and cooking. He never met a stranger, and seemed run into people he knew everywhere he went.

He is survived by His wife, Amy, two sons; Mathew Hart (Sharrie) of Dickens, TX and Tanner Hart of Clines Corner, NM, one daughter; Amery Butler (Jordan) of Estacado, TX, his mom and dad, Marilyn and Tom Taylor of Spur, TX, his father, Thomas Hart of Roaring Springs, one brother; Stephen Hart (Shalene) of Dickens, TX, two sisters; Myra McCleskey of Roaring Springs, TX, and Michelle Raetz (Clinton) of Matador, and four grandchildren; Sydney Butler, Wyatt Butler, Stetson Hart, and Stormy Butler.

Shawn was preceded in death by one infant grandson.

The family suggests memorials to Working Ranch Cowboys Assn. (WRCA), 408 SW 7 th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101.

A graveside service will be held 2PM, Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Dickens Cemetery in Dickens, TX with Rev. Ellis Dean officiating. Services are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Due to the Corona Virus outbreak we ask that everyone honor each others personal space. A P.A. speaker will be used by the minister and for the music so we can stay spread out rather than gather in close.
