Sammie Kay Brakebill 82 of Crosbyton passed away April 21, 2025. Sammie was born on December 28, 1942, to S.P. "Slats" and Geneva Belle Finch Starrett. She married the love of her life George Brakebill on June 1, 1962, in Crosbyton, Texas and they had 62 wonderful years together. Sammie was a teacher at Crosbyton ISD until her retirement. She loved her family, her community and her church, and she enjoyed every kind of arts and crafts.

Sammie is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Joshua Brakebill, a granddaughter Madison Brakebill.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband George Brakebill of Crosbyton, son Michael Brakebill and wife Kristin, granddaughters Annika, and Mia Brakebill and her dear sisters Linda Spurgin and Cheryl Adams and their families.
