Roland King, 86, of Lorenzo, entered Heaven's Gates on Thursday, April 8, 2021. He was born March 22, 1935 to Vernon and Edith Norton King in Matador, Texas. He married the love of his life Jean McCallum on July 11, 1951 in Glasgow, Scotland. He enlisted in the military in 1950 and proudly served as a member of the U.S. Air force. Roland was a loving person who loved many things including; his family, being a part of the CB Club, playing Dominoes and 42, fishing, and just loved to fix things. He will be missed dearly by his friends and loved ones.

Roland is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean; two sons, Steve King and wife Lisha of Acuff, John King and wife Connie of Lorenzo; one daughter, Carol Boyd and husband Byron of Lubbock; one brother, Dwight King of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joan Perkins.

Visitation will be from 9am-5pm, Friday, April 9, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo, TX

A graveside service will be at 2pm, Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Lorenzo Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Williams officiating.
