Obituary

Roberta Ann Guess McGee was born on November 21,1937, to Robert E. and Dimple Guess in Port Arthur, Texas. When she was 9 years old, the family moved to West Texas so her daddy could farm the family land. She grew up south of Lorenzo and was a fighting hornet in Lorenzo ISD. While growing up on the farm, she and her childhood friend, Ginger, played lots of paper dolls and had tons of little girl fun. One day, she noticed that Ginger's big brother, Tommy, was oh so handsome! It wasn't long after that they decided to go to Clovis to get married on December 20, 1956. In 1958, they had their first baby girl, Candace Ann. In 1966, their second baby girl, Celeste Ann, made her appearance. Tommy and Roberta celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in December 2016 and she lost the love of her life the following July. Her greatest joy in life was being Dranny to her grandchildren: Chauncey, Robbie, and  Collyn. She loved cooking and being surrounded by her family and friends. She welcomed everyone into her home for a visit and a feast - she was always the perfect hostess. She became Dranny to a host of others throughout her life and she loved every one of them as if they were her own.

Roberta is survived by her daughters, Candace McGee and Celeste McGee Taylor; and her son-in-law that she adored, Bryan Taylor: all of Lubbock, Grandchildren; Chauncey Kelsey of Lubbock, Robbie Kelsey of parts unknown with Uncle Sam, Collyn Kelsey, and Jordan of Lubbock, Brittney Moreno of Lubbock, Brooklyn Reece and Chris of Lubbock, and Rachel Vincent of Conroe, Great Grandchildren; Tyler Kennedy and Sue, Amarah Kelsey, Justin Kelsey, Tommy Kelsey, Wyatt Kelsey, Wade Kelsey, Will Kelsey, Blake Engeling, Kade Kelsey, Davis Moreno, Maddison Moreno, Carter Moreno, Ryanne Reece, Baby Girl Reece (coming in august), Gabrielle Vincent, and Lachlan Hinojosa, Great Great Grandchild; Lilly Elaine Kennedy.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law and best friend, Ginger Jordan, along with all her precious nieces, nephews and many other hearts touched by hers during her journey with us here.
