Robert Lozoya Diaz, 72, of Ralls passed away Friday, June 16, 2023. He was born September 19, 1950 in Lorenzo, TX to Maria Lozoya Santiago and Arnulfo Diaz.
He was raised by his grandparents, Bartolo and Tirza Lozoya, and attended schools in Lorenzo. Robert married Mercedes Resendez on January 9, 1971 In Ralls. He worked for the Lorenzo Textile mill for 25 years and then drove a cement truck for Allen Butler until his retirement.
He was Communion Minister at St. Michael's Church, and was part of the men's organization for many years. Everyone knew Robert, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing baseball, working jigsaw puzzles and telling jokes.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mercedes of Ralls; one daughter, Linda and husband Ken Anderson of Ralls; one son, Carlos Diaz and wife Sonya of Lubbock; nine brothers, Johnny Santiago of Boise, ID, Jose Santiago, Raymond Santiago, Jr., Joe Bartolo Santiago, Erasmo Santiago, Ricardo Santiago, Hilario Santiago, Adam Santiago and Santiago Santiago all of Lubbock; two sisters, Esperanza Santiago of Scottsbluff, NE and Eva Santiago Rangel of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Michael Martinez, Daniel Martinez, April Mercedes Diaz, Justin Martinez and Juan Carlos Diaz; four great-grandchildren, Marina Martinez, Zhaviah Martinez, Camila Martinez and Alcario Martinez; as well as many nephews, nieces and god children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Ramon Santiago; one son, Robert Anthony Diaz; and a great-granddaughter, Azaily Serenity Martinez.
Rosary will be 6 PM, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls, TX. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Wednesday, June 21st at St. Michael's with Father Jeganathan Arulsamy officiating. Interment will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
