Robert Thomas "Robin" Darsey, Jr. of Afton, TX, passed away Sunday morning, February 10, 2019, at Crosbyton, TX. Robin was born March 13, 1942, in Paducah, Texas. His parents were Robert Thomas Darsey and Ann Winifred (Estes) Darsey. He grew up in the Whitestar and Matador communities, graduated from Matador High School in 1960 and from Texas Technological College in Lubbock with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy. He married Beverly Anne Bridge in 1975, and they had been married for 43 ½ years. They lived in the Roaring Springs, Matador, and Whiteflat communities in Motley County, and lived in the Afton community in Dickens County for the past 15 years. They enjoyed camping and fishing in the Colorado Mountains with their sons and other family and friends throughout their married life.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Matador and of the Matador Masonic Lodge.

Robin never met a stranger and was always ready for a good conversation. A friend recently stated that he was a Pure and Perfect Soul! He also enjoyed being an alumnus of Matador High School with the "Infamous" Class of 1960, and kept in touch with many of his classmates throughout the years.

Robin was involved in farming and ranching most of his life, and also worked with his son, Bert, in a highway mowing business for TXDOT for eight years, and for a pipe plant in Roaring Springs for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Beverly Joanne (Darsey) Stevens. He is survived by his wife Beverly Darsey, his son Robert Thomas "Bert" Darsey III and wife Karri, and his son, Gary Dumont Darsey. He had 2 grandchildren, Kade Donothan Wampler and Joleigh Mae Darsey. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were a big part of his life.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Matador, followed by a graveside service in the Afton Cemetery at 4:00 pm, with Pastor Brian West officiating. A visitation will precede the Memorial Service in the fellowship hall of the church at 1:00 pm.

Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Pipkin, Larry Hoyle, Ed D. Smith, Tom Edwards, Bundy Hal Campbell, Jimmy Welling, Guy Campbell, Harry Hamilton, Willie "Pete" Chambliss, Jimmie Irwin, and Gary Bridge.

Memorials are suggested to Motley County and Dickens Fire Departments, Matador and Dickens Senior Citizens, and Motley and Dickens County EMS.
