Ricardo "Richard" "Hoss" Vega III, 47, of Crosbyton passed away Monday, April 25, 2022. Richard was born June 22, 1974 in Abernathy, Texas to Ricardo Vega, Jr. and Ignacia Castillo Arias.
Richard worked as a Corrections officer and later promoted to Corrections Counselor in both Spur and Post Prisons for 30 years. He was a father figure to his nephew Chris Torres and his niece Zayla Arias, but was the best uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He was always their biggest supporter and attended any and all activities he could. Richard loved all his family, but always went the extra mile to take care of his mother. Richard was a 1993 graduate of Crosbyton High School and was a huge Crosbyton Chiefs fan. He was also a great cook and the biggest Cowboy fan. Richard will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, a nephew, and his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memories are; his parents, Pete and Ignacia Arias; his brothers, Lennie Moreno, Raymond Rodriguez and Elida of Crosbyton; his sisters; Virginia Arias and Roy of Crosbyton, Erica Mireles and Robert of Ropesville, Cassie Arias of Crosbyton, and Gracie Arias and Moiseis of Lubbock; 20 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews.
Being the giving person he was, Richard donated organs to benefit others.
Rosary will be 7:00 PM, Monday, May 2, 2022 at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton.
Funeral Mass will be 2 PM, Tuesday, May 3 rd at San Jose Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Crosbyton Cemetery.
