Rhonda Gail Wheeless, 81 of Crosbyton passed away May 3, 2026. Rhonda was born November 30, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas to Frank and Vera  Bell Ethridge Forbis. She married the love of her life, Jimmie Ray Wheeless on September 26, 1964, in Afton Texas. Rhonda spent much of her life alongside her husband, working on the farm. She loved and appreciated the beauty of the nature that surrounded her. Rhonda enjoyed working in her garden and being outdoors. She had a big heart for all animals, especially her rescue dog Tessa and cat Missy Gray that remained her steadfast companions until her passing.
Those left to cherish her memory are brothers-in-law Donnie Wheeless and wife Jane of Crosbyton, Ronnie Wheeless and wife Marybeth of Miles; nieces, Trisha Kristinek and Husband Jason of Idalou, Kim Parker and husband Jimmy of Canyon; nephews, Kevin Wheeles and wife Kelli of San Angelo, Craig Forbis and wife Donna of Lamesa, Russell Forbis and wife Tracey of Toller, Heith Forbis of Austin.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Vera Bell Forbis, her husband Jimmie Wheeles, two brothers-in-law Don Forbis and  Robert Forbis, and a nephew Kasey Wheeless.
The family would like to say thank you to Tammy Flores, Naomi Cortinez, Linda Reyes, and Anna Villegas for the care and love they showed Rhonda the last several years.
