Petra Luebano Villarreal, 81 of Crosbyton passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Petra was born on January 31, 1945, in Campbellton, Texas to Asension and Clemensia Huisar Luebano. She married the love of her life Ernest Villarreal Sr. August 25, 1963, in Ralls, Texas; he passed away April 9, 2024. Petra was a loving wife and nurturing mother, she and Ernest were foster parents for 36 years, taking care of hundreds of children. Petra also loved cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Petra is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers; Eliberto and Pablo Luebano, three sisters; Silberia Arteaga, Hilaria Almarez, and Estella Sanchez.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters; Diana Lopez and husband Rick, of Seguin, Norma Cortez and husband Rolando of Houston, Christina Rodriguez and husband David of Crosbyton, son, Ernest Villarreal Jr. of Idalou, one brother Juan Luebano Sr. of Crosbyton, a sister, Benita Casarez of Shallowater, seven grandchildren; Andrew and Anthony Cabrera, Alekzander Lopez, Andrea, and Araceli Rodriguez, Jared and Ethan Cortez two, great-grandchildren Rhett Cabrera, Charlotte Cabrera and one on the way.
