Percy Carr Sr., 96, of Crosbyton went to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 23, 2016. He was born in Benchley, Texas on August 24, 1920 to George and Susie (Tate) Carr. He married Lula Mae Carrodine on December 27, 1940 in Benchley and they were married for 58 wonderful years before Lula Mae's passing on August 22, 1999. For many years, Percy was practically everyone's landscaper in Crosbyton. He was always willing to lend a hand and never turned anyone away if they needed help.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Mae Carr; his parents; George and Susie Carr; his daughter; Ollie Horn; and two sons; Charles and William Carr.
Those left to cherish Percy's memory are his three daughters; Minnette Carr and Emma Coppage both of Crosbyton; Lela Mae Ross of Chattanooga, TN; his four sons; Percy Carr Jr. of DeSoto; David Carr of Dallas; Rayford Carr of Wareham, MA; Lewis Carr of Crosbyton; two daughter-in-laws; Joan Carr and Carolyn Carr; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and twenty-two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, October 29, at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton, with Rev. Billy Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Crosbyton Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
