Obituary

Patricio Martinez Jr. 1952-2020

It is with deep sadness that the family of Patricio Martinez Jr. announces his passing on Saturday, May 2,2020, after a long battle with his health.  He was born March 4, 1952 in Lorenzo, TX. He married the love of his life, Rosa Rodriguez, in 1968 and they made their home in Crosbyton, TX, where they raised their 3 children. Patricio worked several years for American Cotton Growers and also for the Crosby County Coop. He was very skill oriented with his hands, having built the dream home for he and his loving wife. Patricio was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church, where he served as an Extraordinary Minister, and donated supplies and used his skills in many volunteer hours helping to build the church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.  Most of all, Particio enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Maria R. (Contreras) Martinez and Patricio Martinez Sr., and his brother, Arturo Martinez. Patricio is survived by his wife Rosa (Rodriguez) Martinez and  his son, Martin G. Martinez, both of Crosbyton, TX; his two daughters, Jacqueline (Ernesto) Clemente of Conway, AR, and Patricia (Johnny) Garza of Lubbock, TX; his four grandchildren, Brandon, Sydney, Bethany and John Patrick, and seven "fur grandbabies";  his seven brothers, Andrew (Julia) Martinez of  Ralls, TX, Joe Luis (Lydia) Martinez, Santos (Maggie) Martinez, Oscar (Margie) Martinez, Rene Martinez, Freddie (Shelly) Martinez, all of Lubbock, TX, and Israel Martinez from Hobbs, NM; his three sisters, Esmeralda (Ruben) Leyva, Margaret Garcia (Tom +), and Melinda (Lawrence) Garcia, all of Lubbock, TX.
