Patricia Sue Brown passed from this life on August 8, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born June 20, 1936, in Bellevue, Texas, to William Odell and Mary Edith Cherry. Her family moved to Bovina in 1936 and later to Lorenzo in 1949, where she graduated from high school in 1954 and remained for the rest of her life, building a family and community she deeply loved.
On September 12, 1954, Patricia married her high school sweetheart, Walter Ellis Brown, in Lorenzo. They lived in Canyon for two years while attending West Texas State University before returning to Lorenzo in 1956 to raise their family. They shared a devoted marriage of nearly 72 years.
Patricia worked for Lorenzo Schools from 1969 until her retirement in 2000, dedicating many years to the children and families of her community. She was also an active member of Lorenzo First Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and served faithfully alongside her church family.
Family was Patricia's greatest joy. She took pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, faithfully supporting their activities, celebrating their accomplishments, and encouraging them throughout their lives. Her love and steady presence shaped generations of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; four children, Edie Tunstall and husband Ken, Martha Keene and husband Keith, Bobby Brown, and Charlie Brown and wife Amberly; seven grandchildren, Samye Hildebrandt and husband Casey, Casey Jo Britton and husband Kyle, Megan Hill and husband Tate, Ellis Brown, Adam Brown, Jenner Brown and wife Ashley, and Walt Brown; five great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Jolie, Jace, and Holt Hildebrandt, and Jude Brown; and her sister, Linda Blansitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Mary Peckinpaugh, Lera Logan, and Atwood Cherry; daughter-in-law Rene Brown; and grandson Guy Jones.
Patricia's life was defined by love, faith, and devotion to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her legacy will live on through those she loved so well.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 21, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. A joint funeral service for Patricia and her husband Walter (who passed away on August 17th) will be held at 10:00 a.m. on August 22, 2026, at First Methodist Church in Lorenzo.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Library of Legacies for their care and attention over the past year. Memorials may be made to First Methodist Church in Lorenzo in Patricia's memory.
