Pat Brown, 86, of Lubbock and formerly of Crosbyton, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021.

She was born September 26, 1934 in Southland, TX to Earnest V. and Vada Harrison Bartlett. She was a graduate of Ralls High School, earned an Associate's degree in art from Western Texas College, and two Masters degrees in History and Museum Science from Texas Tech University.

Pat married the love of her life, Edmund Brown on May 24, 1953 in Clovis, NM. He preceded her in death in 2012. She was very active in 4-H while her kids were growing up, and supported them in all of their activities. She started the educational program while employed at the Crosbyton Museum. She also wrote the play "God's Country".  Pat was very active in her community and was distinguished as Crosbyton woman of the year.

Pat remained active throughout the years, teaching school in Lubbock, and working all of the Texas Tech sporting events. She served as a Republican Committee Chairperson, worked at the voting polls and helped with the Census.

She is survived by two sons, Scott Brown of Lubbock and Rex Brown (Dana) of Bartlesville, OK; three grandchildren, Andy Brown (Lisa), Brandon Scott Brown (Andrea) and Tanner Brown (Mickie); four great-grandchildren, Tristian, Joseph, Mary-Beth and Camdyn; one great-great-grandson, Grayson; and one sister, Geneva Gustin.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

The family suggests memorials be made in her memory to Haven Animal Care Shelter, 4501 N. FM 1729, Lubbock, TX 79403.

A graveside service will be held 10am, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Lakeview Cemetery with Ysidro Gutierrez officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.
