OC Beshirs was born on December 8, 1929 in Yuba, Oklahoma to James Alexander and Isdora Gannon Beshirs and passed from this life on May 24, 2016 in Durant, OK at the age of 86 surrounded by his family.

Raised in Bryan County, OK, OC married Mildred Evelyn Roberts on November 24, 1949 in Durant, and later moved to Lorenzo, TX. During their 35 years of marriage, they raised seven children and were blessed with many grandchildren. OC was an active member in his community; he worked many years as a well technician for both C&B Pump Company in Lorenzo, and Fox Drilling in Petersburg. He enjoyed grounds keeping for the Lorenzo cemetery and delighted in serving in his local church. Following Mildred's passing in May of 1984, OC moved back to Oklahoma. He was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church in Durant and married Barbara (Lucille) Duke on April 4, 1987. They were married for 29 years. He was proud of his Chickasaw heritage and loved woodworking, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

OC was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; three sisters; and one grandson.

OC is survived by his wife, Barbara (Lucille) Beshirs of Achille, OK; sons, Clabourne Beshirs and Judy of Ralls, TX, Gerald (Gebo) Beshirs of Lorenzo, TX and Ray Beshirs and Linda of Haskell, TX; daughters, Reba Norris and Walt of Lubbock, TX, Janet Johnson of Lubbock, TX, Debbie Norris and Scott of Ralls, TX and Yvonne Miller and Joe of Spur, TX; brother, Joe Beshirs of Kerrville, TX; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 27th at the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo, TX under the direction of Brown's Funeral Home of Durant, OK with the assistance of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls, TX. Pastor Steve Miller will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jim Fox, Troy Fox, Carl Chandler, Tommy Morrison, Dee Ware, and Rick Timmons. OC will be laid to rest in the Lorenzo cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to Lorenzo Senior Citizens Center.
