Obituary

Michael "Mike"  Mendolla, 72, passed away on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 2, 1953, to Jesse and Virginia Mendolla, Mike lived a life defined by devotion to his family, generosity toward others, and a heart that never hesitated to serve those in need.

Mike shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Gloria Mendolla, the love of his life and faithful partner through the years. Together they raised two daughters, Debbie Mendolla and Kelly Robledo of Ralls and Monika Mendolla and Erik Hernandez of Ralls, who were a constant source of pride and joy. He was also a cherished grandfather to Jacob Hernandez and Madison Hernandez, whom he loved deeply and treasured beyond measure.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Virginia Mendolla; his brother, Joe Mendolla; and his sister, Marylou Mendolla.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, daughters, grandchildren, sister Stella Hernandez, brothers Lyman Mendolla and Sammy Mendolla, along with numerous extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness.

Mike was a man of quiet strength, wisdom, and unwavering compassion. He was the person family and friends turned to for guidance, encouragement, and support. Whether offering heartfelt advice, lending a helping hand, or simply being present during difficult times, Mike gave of himself freely and generously. His selflessness and genuine concern for others left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Among his greatest joys were spending time with his family, creating lifelong memories during vacations to Mexico, and enjoying summers on South Padre Island. He cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved, and those moments together became some of his most treasured memories.

While his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and friends, they take comfort in the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of love, generosity, faithfulness, and service to others.
