Obituary

Mary Jo Hale, 95, of Crosbyton passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025. A memorial service for Jo will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 11am at the Crosbyton Church of Christ with Matt James officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations in Jo Hale's name to be made to the Crosbyton Senior Citizens.

Jo was born July 1, 1929, in Jones County, Texas to Thurman Wilkinson and Lydia Lucke Wilkinson. She graduated from Hawley High School in 1946.  After graduation, she attended Abilene Christian College. She married her first husband, Doyle Lawlis on November 16, 1947 in Abilene, TX.  They had two daughters, Doylene and Jodie, before he passed away in 1973.  Shortly after Doyle passed away, Jo began taking art lessons where her love of painting flourished.  She married Goodwin Hale on January 1, 1980, in Rotan, Texas and then made their home in Crosbyton, TX.  Jo worked as an Accredited Records Technician and Certified Medical Transcriptionist. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling the United States with Goodwin, going to Texas Ranger games, and painting.  She was baptized at the age of eleven and was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.

Jo was reunited in heaven with Doyle and Goodwin, her parents, her brother, Bill Wilkinson, and her sister, Earlene Key.

She is survived by her daughters: Doylene Alls and her husband, Charlie of Sweetwater, Texas and Jodie House and her husband, Carl of Crosbyton. Her sister, Jimmie Coffey of Hawley, TX. Grandchildren: Precious Gaines of Abilene, Texas; Beth Alls of Sweetwater, Texas; Heath Alls and his wife, Meagan of Euless, Texas; Megan Sue of Ralls; Texas; and Lauren Miller and her husband, Scott of Crosbyton. Great-Grandchildren: Coby McDonald of Abilene; Kelly McDonald of Abilene; Riley Albo of Sweetwater; Noah, Levi, and Hannah Sue of Ralls; and Truett and Berkleigh Eubank and Fox Miller of Crosbyton; and Kase and Molly Alls of Euless, Texas.

Pallbearers: Heath Alls, Scott Miller, Lucas Caroland, Noah Sue, Truett Eubank, and Levi Sue.
