Marilyn Steadhman Wells, 87, entered Heaven's Gates on Sunday, January 21st, 2024.  Marilyn was born on November 24, 1937 in McAdoo Texas to Ben and Nona Steadham.  She married Elmer Wells of Ralls, Texas on September 5, 1959.  Marilyn was a beautiful person and a hard worker.  She retired from the Crosbyton USDA FSA office on May 8, 2000.

Marilyn was a tireless advocate for Ralls, Texas.  She contributed countless hours and energy to the town and its people.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Ralls Museum and was an amazing caregiver and friend to many.  Marilyn had a tremendous love for all animals and spent hours volunteering for the Animal Rescue of Crosby County doing anything that needed to be done. In addition, Marilyn was devoted to preserving the history of Crosby County and spent many years preserving Cooks Elementary School.

Marilyn loved her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren with her whole heart.  She loved spending time with them, and they all loved her dearly.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Elmer Wells, parents Ben and Nona Steadham, one brother Benny Steadham.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Lance and wife Shelley Wells of Idalou, Texas, a daughter, D'Aun and husband Robert Recker of Dallas, Texas, five grandchildren: Laundry Wells of Austin, Texas, Logan and his wife Megan Wells of Oklahoma, Laiven Wells of Tucson, Arizona, Emma and Sydney Recker of Dallas, Texas.  Marilyn is also survived by her beloved cats, Bubba and Cali Mae and her dog Stella.

The family suggest memorials to Crosby County Animal Rescue, the Ralls Museum, or the Ralls First Baptist Church.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
