Maria C. Puente 86 of Lorenzo passed away Thursday October 12, 2017. Maria was born on October 21, 1930 in Rose Bud TX to Mauricio and Ramona Alvarez Castilleja. She married Joaquin Puente on December 1, 1948 in Ralls. They were married 60 years before his passing in 2009.
Maria was involved in San Lorenzo Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking. Maria loved being with her grand children, watching the Texas Rangers and traveling.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents , husband, and a son Alfredo.
Maria is survived by three sons Joaquin Puente Jr. of Surprise AZ, Jorge Puente of Lorenzo, Raul Puente of Lorenzo, Three brothers Jose Angel Castilleja of Lubbock, Antonio Castilleja of Cotton Center, Juan Castilleja of Lubbock, one sister Santos Lara of Houston, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday October 16, 2017 at the San Lorenzo Catholic in Lorenzo, burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the same church.
