Maria Lourdes
Ortiz
Jul 5, 1950 — Nov 29, 2021
Lorenzo
Maria Lourdes Ortiz was born July 5, 1950 in Durango, Mexico to Nicolas Alvarado Galvan & Inocencia Nunez de Alvarado.
She married Jesus Ortiz on December 24, 1966 in Durango, Mexico
Lourdes was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was one of a kind. She was beautiful inside and out. She was our saintly mom. God blessed mom with a deep Catholic faith and devotion.
Lourdes joined the workforce after 1985. She was a custodian at South Park Hospital, she then joined the Lorenzo Textile Mill and finally she worked at TYCO where she retired.
She loved a quiet afternoon with her family out on her front porch. Her family was her life. She raised her children with love and devotion, and had a spiritual personality that was contagious to everyone she met. She loved cooking and just doing things for her family. Anytime family would visit she would always have a pot of beans cooking.
The one thing we absolutely enjoyed about her was her simple and humble way of living life. She would often say to us "Vivan como Dios manda, no se aferrar las cosas mundiales. Este mundo es pasajero, lo que nos espera esta mas alla des cielo. So prepare yourself.
She left this world suddenly on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the age of 71.
Lourdes leaves behind two sons, Miguel Ortiz and George Ortiz both of Lorenzo; three daughters, Juanita Yanez and husband Modesto of Lubbock, Lulu Ortiz of Lorenzo and Josie Ortiz of Lubbock; three brothers, Miguel Alvarado of Olton, Nicolas Alvarado of Greeley, CO and Carlos Alvarado of Durango, Mexico; six grandchildren, Nikkie, Analia, Aaron, Anthony, Aliannah Mikkel and AJ; two great-grandchildren, Judah and Eren; and one honorary son, Kelly Plumley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, Arnold Ortiz, and one sister, Engracia Alvarado.
