Maria Guadalupe Martinez, 67, of Lorenzo passed away on September 20, 2015 in Lubbock. Maria was born in Martindale,Texas on April 29, 1948 to Carlos and Paula (Rangel) Landin. She married Arturo Martinez in 1975 in Crosbyton and remained married to him until his death in April 1986. She was a member of San Lorenzo Catholic Church and was a Guadalupana. She enjoyed having barbeques and cooking for everyone. She loved playing softball but especially loved watching her grand kids play softball.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Martinez and her sister, Manuela Proa.

She is survived by two daughters; Joann Cisneros and Pamela Zaragoza both of Lubbock; five brothers; Charlie Landin of Lubbock; Juan Landin of Austin; Armando Landin of New Braunfels; Victor Landin of Lorenzo; Israel Landin of Houston; three sisters; Dora Alicia Peralez, Maria Luisa DeLeon and Gloria Cisneros all of Lorenzo; eight grandchildren; Amanda Martinez and husband Andrew; Stephanie Cedillo and husband Chris Speegle ; Alyssa Cedillo ; Tabytha Cedillo and husband Jacob Escobar; Adrianna Zaragoza; Ryne Zaragoza; Ariah Martinez; Merica Mierau; three great-grandchildren; Andrew Maddux Martinez; Jayleigh Escobar; and Nolan Cedillo.

A rosary will be held at 7 pm Wednesday, September23 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. Funeral mass will be held at 2 pm Thursday, September 24 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church, with burial following at Lorenzo Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
