Maria Julia Puente 86 of Lorenzo passed away Thursday March 24, 2022.  Julia was born January 9, 1936 in Spur, Texas to Luis and Loretta Pauda Garcia. She married Policarpo Lara Puente on August 25, 1961 and spent 60 wonderful years together.

Julia was a Trailblazer being the first Hispanic female to graduate Spur High School; she was the first member of her family to earn a Bachelor's degree, she has left her children the legacy of education and a strong faith foundation . Maria loved doing crafts, quilting, and crocheting and was known as a very good baker.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Policarpo Lara Puente of Lorenzo; two sons, Colonel (retired) Anthony Puente of Wichita Falls, James Puente of Levelland; one daughter, Theresa Ann Puente Espinoza of Idalou; six grandchildren, and eleven great- grandchildren.
