Maria Amparo Amador Cruz, 57, loving mother and adoring wife to Zenon Cruz, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 3, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born September 4, 1965, in La Lobeña, Zacatecas, Mexico to Florencio and Tomasa Reyes Amador. She grew up surrounded by her loving family of 16 brothers and sisters.
Maria met Zenon in June of 1989 at Allsup's in Abernathy. They fell in love and married just a few short months later, on September 2, 1989, in La Lobeña. They set roots in Abernathy, TX where they raised their children and were surrounded by all their loving nieces and nephews. Maria was able to open her own business named "Custom Cuts by Maria" and was a cosmetologist for over 20 years. She loved what she did and made many friends through her business.
During her marriage to Zenon, Maria grew very close to his family. She built amazing bonds and relationships with her brother, and sisters-in-law, and played a big part in care taking of her mother-in-law Lorenza Cruz until her passing. Her husband's family grew to love and admire her, as did she, through all the hardships and joyful times they shared  together.
Maria was a woman of strong faith which she instilled in her family. As a servant of the Lord, she was always giving her time to others. Maria was a very active member of St.  Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy. She was in the Guadalupana Society, served as President of the Altar Society, volunteered with the Sisters of Franciscan Mission, and achieved many other endeavors throughout her religious life.
She loved her children very much and as grandchildren started to arrive, she welcomed all 10 with open arms. She was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by the bright smile she took everywhere she went and will be missed by all who knew her.
Maria was blessed by a large and loving family. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Zenon of Abernathy, 16 siblings, Cipriana and her husband Andres and family, Raul and his wife Gloria and family, Miguel and his wife Berenice and family, Soccoro Delgado and family, Ramon Amador and family, Aureliano and his wife Maria and   family, Alejandro and wife Luisa and family, Rosa and her husband Antonio, Lupe and her husband Obet and family, Celia and her husband Manuel and family, Maria De Los Angeles and family, David and his wife Angelica and family, Navora and her husband Alejandro and family, Jorge and his wife Norma and family, Fernando and his wife Maria Lupe and family, Julian and his wife Olivia and family, oldest son Julian Cruz and wife Justine of Abernathy, daughter, Brittany Cruz of San Antonio, and youngest son Matthew Cruz and wife Analicia of Lubbock, and 10 grandchildren.
