Obituary

Luis Angel Ovalle, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2025 at 12:08 AM, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 64 years old.

Luis was born on August 9, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, and made his home in Crosbyton, Texas, where he built a life full of warmth, devotion, and family. He was known for his unwavering love for his children and grandchildren, his sharp sense of humor, and his die-hard loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys — even if he didn't get to witness them win one more Super Bowl.

Luis was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Bessie Ovalle, his brothers Joe Ovalle, Pablo Ovalle Jr., and grandson Jesse Rey Cantu.

He is survived by his loving children: Lee Ovalle and his wife Jennifer of Idalou, Lisa Torres and her wife Stacy of Crosbyton, Laurie Ovalle of Crosbyton, and Joe Luis Ovalle of Amarillo. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Tatum, Luke, Haylee, Dominik, Jacob (and wife Mary Jane), Jeremy, Jonathan, Shaun, Adam, Natalie, Autumn, and Isaac. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Lucca, Mateo, Izalynn, and Jesse.

He is mourned by his siblings: Julia Ovalle, Rachel Gomez (Fidel), Lydia Martinez (Luis) Gabby Berdeja, Gilbert Ovalle Sr (Carol)., and Paul Murillo (Gloria). He was a cherished uncle to Tawynee Villegas (Andrew) and family, D'Maris Murillo, and Tammi Escobar (Dominique) and others held a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.

Luis will be remembered for his strong spirit, big heart, and the deep, unconditional love he showed to his family. Whether he was cheering on his Cowboys, cracking a joke, or offering a helping hand, Luis made sure everyone around him felt seen, supported, and loved.

His family takes comfort in knowing that his memory will live on through the stories shared, the love passed down, and every Sunday football game watched in his honor.
Rest easy, Dad. We love you. Always.
