Obituary

Loreeta Allene Schoepf, age 81, passed from this earth at her home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday April 9th, 2022. Loreeta was born in Lubbock on August 11th, 1940, to Wallace and Allene Hill.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 6-7pm at the Lorenzo location of Adams Funeral Home. Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 10am at First Baptist Church in Lorenzo with interment to follow at Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Loreeta graduated from Ralls High School in 1958. During her freshman year, at just 15 years old, she met the love of her life, Marvin Schoepf and they married on April 10th, 1959. They settled in Lorenzo, Texas and would go on to have 3 children and numerous grandchildren. In their 62 married years, together, they would build a farming family legacy that has since been passed down to the next 2 generations…and counting.

Loreeta was the quintessential rural American housewife. She took on all the responsibilities of running the household as well as helping in the field during the early years. She would often be seen with a truckload of babies pulling cotton trailers down rural roads to the gin during harvest season. During this time, she also learned to cook. She was a wizard in the kitchen and mostly cooked and baked based on how something felt or looked rather than a recipe and her pies and deserts quickly became legendary at any community or church social event.

Later in life, Loreeta developed a love of quilting and created some of the most beautiful quilts that she would give away to family and friends as well as donate to various charities for auctions. All of these creations will now be treasured family heirlooms.

Loreeta was preceded in death by her beloved Marvin, her prents, sister Wilma and brother Wayne, and grandsons Trevor, Ross, and Brody.

Loreeta is survived by her sister Frances, sisters-in-law Marylin and Cynthia, son Bryan and Tina, son Mark and D'Ann, daughter Janet and Brett. Grandchildren Allen and wife Melissa, Matt and wife Mary, Tamara, John, Josh and wife Courtney, Truett, Brittany, and Tucker. Great Grandchildren Christian, Tavian, Wesley, Ty, Kimber and Levi. Best Friends and Travel Partners Bobby and Sharon Brown.

In Lieu of flowers, Loreeta would be honored for donations made to Lorenzo Baptist Church or the Lorenzo Senior Citizens Center.
