K.Y. Anderson was born on September 15, 1933 to the parents of Murph & Lydia Anderson .  He was the 11 ^th child of 12 children. (Estelle, Minerva, Goldie, Viola, Katie, Lorine, Bennie, W.D., J.V., Artie B., Artie Mae). He was prededed in death by his parents and 10 siblings.

He started working at an early age as a shoe shine, Rose Nursery, Candy Kitchen, Canning Factory for Tomatoes, City of Jacksonville, and Brown Lumber Co. of Jacksonville, Texas.  He was a farmer for many years and also worked at the City of Ralls, Texas where he retired after 20 years.  At a young age he sang in a quartet.  Family and friends found that he had a unique sense of  humor.  K.Y. was a faithful and active member of Shiloh Baptist Church for many years.  K.Y.'s hobbies included fishing and hunting.

K.Y. married Loletha Thompkins on October 26, 1956.  From this union they had 7 children, (Ardie, K.Y. Jr., Willie Paul, Tony, Harold, Debbie & Mary).  He was preceded in death by K.Y. Anderson, Jr.  He had 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He taught his children to have a strong work ethic from an early age.  He had his 5 eldest children working in the field chopping cotton to earn money for school clothes and other items when they were teenagers.  He taught his children to never be ashamed of an honest job in which you are working to support your family.  For all of this and more we will always love and miss you.

He leaves to mourn him his wife Loletha, 6 children, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Lorine Brooks (Verlie C) of Jacksonville, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.
