Kaye Ann Botik Richardson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and woman of unwavering faith, was born on March 7, 1943, in Lubbock, Texas. She peacefully passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 83. 
Kaye was a woman of extraordinary strength, grace and faith. A deeply devoted Catholic, her relationship with God was the foundation of her life. She prayed the Rosary faithfully each day and leaned on her faith through every season of her life. She truly lived with the faith of a mustard seed, a faith that was steadfast, powerful and never shaken. Her trust in God brought her comfort, strength and peace.
Kaye was a longtime member of Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock, Texas, and later attended St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Idalou, Texas, where she and her family made their home. Her Catholic faith was not simply a part of her life, it was the foundation upon which she lived it. 
Kaye attended Monterey High School in Lubbock, where she was an accomplished tennis player, successfully competing in doubles. She later attended Texas Tech University, continuing her education while building a life filled with family, faith and purpose. 
In 1977, Kaye married Elton Richardson. In the following year, they moved to Idalou, Texas, where they raised their blended family. Together, Kaye and Elton shared 49 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, faith and countless memories. 
Kaye had a long and successful career as a secretary, working for presidents and executives in the grocery industry, including Furr’s Supermarkets and Fleming Foods. She was admired for her dedication, professionalism, strength and caring nature. But Kaye's greatest joy was her family and one of the ways she expressed her love was through her cooking. She was an amazing cook who took great pride in preparing delicious, homemade meals for the people she loved. Her family could always count on a warm, loving, home cooked meal on the table each night. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, nourishment and love and the memories created around her table will be treasured forever. Many of her most favorable memories were the countless weekend getaways to their cabin at Lake Stamford, fishing for hours on the Nancy-Kaye boat and later with a fish fry. Kaye was a loving mother to Kimberly Allison, Trent Allison and his wife, Jill Allison and Shannon Allison-Boyd. A devoted stepmother to Terry Richardson, Barry Richardson and Brandon Richardson and his wife, Casandra Richardson. She was a cherished grandmother to Tori Allison, Braden Allison, Channing Boyd, Walker Richardson, Michaela Richardson and Haylee Ward. Also, a proud great-grandmother to Rinley, Henson, Cohen, Saylor and Kolson. 
Kaye was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Evelyn and Joe Botik. 
She is survived by her beloved husband, Elton Richardson; her children and stepchildren and their spouses; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her siblings, Phil Botik, Gwen Churchill, Don Botik and Joe Botik, along with extended family and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her. 
Kaye leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond the years she lived. Her unwavering faith, strength, love of family, generous heart and the warmth she brought into her home will continue through the generations she leaves behind. 
Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort knowing that the faith she held so deeply throughout her life has now carried her home. We imagine her entering Heaven with her Rosary in her hands, finally at peace in the loving presence of our Lord. 
She spent her life praying, believing, loving and trusting in God. Her hands may no longer hold her Rosary, but the prayers she prayed will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
