Julia
Flores
Jul 30, 1933 — Dec 6, 2025
Ralls
Beloved mother of twenty children and a devout Catholic woman of extraordinary grace, Julia Rodríguez Flores, age 92, of Ralls, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in her home, surrounded by the love of her family—love she nurtured, shaped, and poured into every day of her life.
Born on July 30, 1933, in Lockhart, Texas, to Ermogenes and Josefina Cruz Rodríguez, Julia grew into a woman whose strength, compassion, and unwavering faith became the foundation of a family that now spans generations. On July 23, 1950, she married the love of her life, Antonio B. Flores, in their hometown of Lockhart. Together, they built a home overflowing with laughter, sacrifice, devotion, and unconditional love. Antonio preceded her in death on June 5, 2007, and we now entrust them both to God's eternal mercy and loving care.
Julia lived her life in service to God and to others. As the loving heart and guiding strength of a large and beautiful family, she created a home where everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and deeply loved. Her hands prepared countless meals, her prayers protected her children and grandchildren, and her gentle strength carried her family through every season of life.
She was not only a mother to her own children, but also to many others in her community—opening her heart and home to care for countless children throughout the years. Her gift was nurturing; her calling was love.
A proud Guadalupana of St. Michael Catholic Church, Julia lived her faith with fervor. She prayed the rosary daily, often through tears, joys, worries, and gratitude. Her faith was unshakeable—a living example of what it means to trust God completely. Her devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe and her deep relationship with prayer defined the rhythm of her days and guided the path of her family.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Antonio; two children, Virginia Rendon and Alexander Flores; two brothers, Victor Rodríguez and Joaquín Rodríguez; and her sister, Simona Rodríguez.
Those left to cherish her memory are her twelve daughters:Dora Rendon, Marti Fountain, Diana Garlock, Mary Flores, Susie Taylor, Eve Grikis, Lorrie Graham, Josie Tejada, Alice Mata, Veronica Muhlenkamp, Mercedes Flores, and Isabel Castillo. Her six sons: Tony Flores, Joe Luis Flores, George Flores, Carlos Flores, Paul Flores, and Adam Flores. She is also survived by six sisters, two brothers, 53 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren—a breathtaking legacy of love that began with one remarkable woman whose heart had room for everyone.
To know Julia was to know kindness, faith, and unwavering love. Her laughter, her stories, her strength, her rosary in hand, her tenderness, and even her firmness when needed—these will forever echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her life was a testament to motherhood, to faith, to perseverance, and to the quiet power of a woman who gave everything she had for her family.
And now, with hope in God's promises, we lovingly entrust her soul to the mercy and embrace of our Lord, confident that the God she served so faithfully holds her close and grants her eternal peace alongside those who have gone before her.
