John W. Spivey 74, of Ralls, Texas passed away Sunday July 18, 2021. He was born July 3, 1947 in Groom, Texas to Claude and Edith Stafford Spivey. He married Tammy Blackburn on July 6, 1990 in Clarendon, Texas.

John was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He was a Master Mason and served as the Past Master of Emma Lodge 931. In the past he had served as the Fire Chief for the Ralls Fire Dept., Fire Marshal, and also on the City Council. He worked as a telephone lineman for over 30 years and then worked as a jailer for 15 years. John was quite the jokester and a very sneaky cheater when it came to playing chicken foot. He was a great man who never met a stranger and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Tammy, and his brother Broadus Spivey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Claudette Marie Tullis and husband Danny of Borger, TX; his son Michael Edward Spivey of Ralls, TX; his brother David Spivey and wife Della of Grand Prairie, TX; his sisters, Becky Lane and husband Gerald of Clarendon, TX, Ruth Ann Spivey of Austin, TX; and his grandchildren, Kaleb and Tyson Snell, Weston Spivey and Michael and Ryan Tullis.
