Jose "Joe" Gonzalez, 77, of Lorenzo passed away September 3, 2021.

Joe was born January 20, 1944 in Mission, TX to Petra Gonzalez. He lived the majority of his life in Lorenzo, TX, where he was a pillar in the community. He spent many years in the Lorenzo Lion's Club, where he held many positions until he retired in 2010.

Joe married Rebecca Gonzalez in 1965 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death. He has spent the last 22 years with best friend and spouse, Norma Jimenez.

At a young age, Joe started his working career as a farmer. He started his own business at the Lorenzo Tire Store, where he had many successful years. Joe found his passion in the mid 1990's as an auctioneer, where he helped create Premier Auctions and worked for Fletchers Auctioneers until his death.

Joe had many passions in life. He enjoyed BBQ cook-offs with friends and family. He liked watching Texas Tech football and absolutely loved his desserts.

Joe is survived by spouse, Norma Jimenez; son,  Michael Gonzalez (Lora) of Lubbock; daughter Donna Cantu (Juan) of Ransom Canyon;  Manuel Trevino (Soledad) and Edward Trevino (Crystal) both of Midland; Erika Gonzalez of Lubbock, Elma Fortune (Jason) of Odessa and Debbie Armendarez (Joe) of Midland; 20 grandchildren, Tesla Harkey (Taylor), Thalia Gonzalez, Stephen Cantu, Dallyn Gonzalez, Courtney Cantu, Olivia Gonzalez, Zoey Gonzalez, Devon, Tatum, Pierce, Teagan, Cierra and Rylee Trevino, Tabitha and Benjamin Rodriquez, Edwin Trevino, Kody Gonzalez (Isiah), and Achilles, Maddison and Davina Armendarez; and six great-grandchildren, Elijah Harkey, Anacelia Harkey, Zaylah Alexander, Z'Cory Salazar, Cash and Clayton Saenz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Ralls, TX with Pastor Mace Saenz officiating. Interment will follow at Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
