Joaquin Casanova 79 of Crosbyton passed away November 27, 2021. Joaquin was born June 21, 1942 in Odem, Texas to Jesus and Margarita Casanova. Joaquin was a jack of all trades and worked as a flagman and put in many fences in and around Crosby County. He also worked at the Pioneer Memorial Building for 30 years and retired at the age of 65. While employed by the Pioneer Memorial Building, Joaquin spent many hours both as an employee and a volunteer helping with the "God's Country" production. He was Santa Claus for a great number of years for the Crosbyton Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid television watcher and enjoyed watching "novelas" with his sister, Alex and brother-in-law, Joe. World news, and documentaries were also shows that he always watched and he was always in the know about current events and things of interest around the world. He was the "favorite uncle" to all his nieces and nephews.
Joaquin is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alejandra Santos; two brothers, Noberto and Marcos Casanova.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two brothers; Salome Casanova and wife Lupita of Crosbyton, Miguel Casanova and wife Sylvia of Crosbyton; four sisters, Amelia Arroyo of Crosbyton, Eva Lozano and husband Pedro of Ralls, Ema Singleterry and husband Ed of Crosbyton, and Priscilla Casanova of Lubbock; seventeen nieces and nephews, and thirty great nieces and nephews.
Prayer services will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday November 30, 2021 at the Templo Maranatha Church. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 1, 2021 at the Templo Maranatha Church, burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
