Joanne
Haney
Oct 26, 1955 — Jan 4, 2022
Jo Anne Haney, 66, transitioned Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in Crosbyton, Texas at the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
JoAnne was born October 26, 1955, in Knox City, Texas, to Kenneth and Laura White. She would recall fond memories of gardening, growing up with chickens as a young child, as well as a cow, they never owned, but family always let her believe they did. Later in life, she would lovingly nurture many beautiful plants, tend to the garden, can delicious age-old recipes for her family to enjoy, along with being a wonderful seamstress, and cook. One of her favorite ways to show her love was making sure her family always had sweet snacks and or their favorite dish. She kept her childhood passion for chickens too and collected décor wherever she could, it was always easy to know exactly what she would cherish for Christmas.
In 1971, Jo Anne attended Lubbock High and went on to graduate from Coronado High School in 1974. She completed certifications for her post-secondary education through Commercial Business College which eventually lead to her working at Capital Mortgage Services where she thoroughly enjoyed her job. Jo Anne married her high school friend Ricky Lee Alley in June of 1978 and the two embarked on a journey to San Diego, California, where they were stationed at Camp Pendleton. They had three beautiful children Kimberly Ann, Kenneth Lee, and Krystal Dawn. Jo Anne was the rock for her family during four deployments and twenty years active military service. They spent their last two years on Treasure Island before returning home to Lubbock, Texas in 1991. While Ricky and Jo Anne dissolved their marriage of twenty-eight years in 2006, they remained lifelong friends. Jo Anne actively supported her children in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Orchestra, band, and any other endeavors they sought to pursue. She thought the world of her son and daughters, always wanting the best this world had to offer them.
Jo Anne met Billy Wayne Haney in late 2006 and love blossomed. They decided to open a new chapter of their lives together in Amarillo, Texas in 2007 and were happily married March 22, 2011, in Tucumcari, New Mexico. They loved to joke about silly situations, cook and grill together, watch westerns frequently, and thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. Their life wouldn't be complete though without Konner and Tanner Haney which joined them on their adventure in 2011. That's when they became known as Pepaw and Memaw or Jo mama as so many of us refer to her as. She took pride in taking care of, loving, and raising the boys as her own, attending school functions, football games, and was deeply vested in their academic achievements.
Jo Anne is proceeded in death by both her grandparents, parents, and beautiful daughter Kimberly Ann Alley. She is survived by her loving husband Bill Haney, Son Kenneth Alley and daughter in law Kasandra Alley, Daughter Krystal Hogan and son in law Jonathan Hogan, Tiffany Haney, Courtney Dougherty and son in law Jimmy Dougherty, Krystal Haney, Heather Jones, twenty-two grandchildren, one great grandchild, sister Ruth Cook, and many friends.
A memorial gathering will be held in Spring of 2022 to celebrate life. As time approaches, the family will send notification via phone, text, or Facebook and hope all who knew Jo Anne will attend.
