Jesus Lara Rivera, 69, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on August 2, 2026. He was born on May 10, 1957, in Spur, Texas to Valentine and Paula Rivera.

Jesus was a big family man. Whether he was casting a line on a quiet morning, cheering on the Buffalo Bills every football season, tossing horseshoes and drinking Budweiser with his family and friends, or tending the grill for a backyard barbeque; he made every gathering feel special. He will be remembered for his easygoing spirit, love for the outdoors, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his three daughters, Brandi Austin, Melani Hilliker, Paula Chavez; three brothers, Vic Rivera, Ben Rivera, Benny Rivera; one sister, Nora Rivera; six grandchildren, Harley, Isaiah, Cameron, Betty, Jade, and Noah.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Valentine and Paula Rivera; his son, Lonny Rivera; and his brother, Ricardo Rivera.
