Jerome Arnold Hodges, 89, of Crosbyton passed away on March 20, 2022. He was born April 25, 1932 in Palestine, TX to Jerome Anderson Hodges and Esther Weisinger Hodges.

Arnold was a 1948 graduate of Crosbyton High School. He married Dorothy Grizzle on June 3, 1951 at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton. He farmed in Crosby County for 65 years before retiring. Following his retirement, he and Dorothy enjoyed traveling the country and trout fishing. Arnold was a Master Mason at the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge #1020. He was also a very talented woodworker and enjoyed gifting his family members with wood carvings of Longhorns.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Max Hodges and wife Sandy of Springfield, MO, and Mike Hodges and wife Ilene of Cedar Park, TX; one daughter, Carolyn Chappell and husband Gene of Crosbyton; nine grandchildren, Corey Hodges, Micheal Hodges, John Hodges, Dustin Chappell, Lanice Bennett, Katie Hodges, Claire Hodges, Micaela Hodges, and Ryan Hodges; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Hodges; one granddaughter, N'Keigh Hodges; two brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, 300 West Birch St., Crosbyton, TX 79322.
