Janice Lurlene Smith, 73 , of Lorenzo went to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on April 8, 2022. She was born January 2, 1949 in Matador, TX to John Louis and Margie Slaughter McDonald.

Janice attended school in Turkey, TX. She graduated from Jessie Lee's Beauty School of Lubbock in 1966 and married Lannie Mike Smith on February 25, 1967 in Lubbock, TX. She also became a successful real-estate agent and jeweler in Lubbock throughout her working career. However, her most rewarding job was that of loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Lannie of Lorenzo; one son, Dane Stacy Smith and wife Amanda of Quinlan; two daughters, Leslie Moreno of Lubbock and Shea McFarlin and husband Chris of Midlothian; twelve grandchildren, Dylan Zane Smith and Devon Mike Smith of Quinlan, Berkley, Mason, and Gavin Smith of Greenville, Kale and Christian Smith of McAllen, Bentley, Casey and Cole Hughes of Midlothian, Haylie Moreno of Lubbock, and Amber Moreno of Midland; four great grandchildren, Trislan, Adrian, Landon, and Kailee; and one brother, Eddie McDonald and wife Carol of Marble Falls.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Zane Macy Smith; and one grandson, Cody Moreno.

Janice will be laid to rest at the Lorenzo Cemetery following a private family graveside service on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at 1:30PM.
