James Douglas Pruitt, 76, died peacefully in Odessa, Texas on September 4, 2015. He was born October 3, 1938 in Bonham, TX to Herman and Mary Juanita (Price) Pruitt. He married Carolyn Kay Lindley on November 24, 1962 in Ralls, TX. James was a devout family man who spent much of his free time camping and fishing with his family. He was also an assistant Scout Master, who devoted much of his time to scouting and camping trips with his son. He loved his family dearly and everything he did was for his family. James was a man of great integrity and never wronged a single person.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carolyn; and his daughter, Lori Westmoreland.
He is survived by his son; Byron James Pruitt and wife Karola of Midland; five grandchildren; Kenneth Pruitt and wife Kaylea of Osage, MN; Brandon Pruitt of Kermit; Rodney Holloway and wife Cassandra of Fort Carson, CO; Brittany Holloway of Lubbock; and James Holloway of Tyler.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, September 9 at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Thursday, September 10 at City of Lubbock Cemetery with Tim Mills officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.adamsfuneral.com
