Visitation for Jackie Lee Hamersley, 85, of Crosbyton will be 5-6 PM, Wednesday, January 19, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.
Jackie was born August 7, 1936 in Atoka, OK to Jake Hamersley and Nancy Vera (Roberts) Hamersley. He married Jimmie Lynn (Traylor) Hamersley on April 10, 1955. She preceded him in death on September 4, 2009.
Jackie was raised initially within the Boggy Depot area in Oklahoma moving frequently after the passing of his mother, Vera. As a young man he found his way to the Crosbyton area which became his permanent home. Jackie worked in various businesses in Crosbyton as a young man before settling into the auto parts business which he did for many years and then later worked for Crosbyton Community Action before his retirement. Jackie was a retired member of the Crosbyton Volunteer Fire Department and also the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge #1020 (since 1974). He enjoyed coaching various Little League teams in Crosbyton. He also had a love for hunting with his dogs and playing golf and the fellowship theses brought of many friends, young and old, through the years.
Jackie is preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his stepmother, Myrtle Dee Hamersley; and three brothers, Tommy, J.W. and Doil Hamersley.
Survivors include: three sons, Gary and wife Kittie Hamersley of Crosbyton, Mark and wife Mary Hamersley of Brady, and Brendan Hamersley of Crosbyton; five grandchildren, Maggie Van Hoose, Megan Garcia, Montana Hamersley, Megan Klose and Danny Mason; and ten great-grandchildren, Boston, Madelynn, Lucas, Michael, Emily, Miles, Abigail, Haelee, Noah and Leah.
