Isabel Chavez, 73, of Lorenzo passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 surrounded by all of her loved ones. She was born August 21, 1942 to Vidal and Guadalupe Samarripas in Santa Rosa, TX. She married Pedro Clemente Chavez on August 15, 1963. Isabel enjoyed cooking and gambling but most of all she enjoyed spending time with all of her kids and grandkids. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pedro Clemente Chavez; her parents Vidal and Guadalupe Samarripas; her brother Pablo Samarripas; her sister Maria Irene Samarripas; and her daughter Josie Chavez.

She is survived by eight children; her three daughters Mary Alcala, Esmeralda Alcala, and Isabel Villarreal all of Lorenzo; five sons; Juan Chavez of Roma, TX; Fidencio Chavez of Idalou, TX; Carlos, Steven, and Jaime Chavez all of Lorenzo; thirty-nine grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be held 7 pm Wednesday, November 11 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. Funeral Mass will be held 2 pm Thursday, November 12 at San Lorenzo, with burial following in Lorenzo Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
