Howard Griffin, 73 passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on the morning of Monday March 20, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Madeliene Griffin, his dedicated wife of 53 years.
Born in Dickens County, Howard is the oldest son of J.J. and Ruth Griffin. He attended both McAdoo and Crosbyton Schools. He spent the majority of his life doing what he loved most, working the family farm with his dad.
Howard was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in McAdoo, Lamesa and St. Luke's Methodist Church in Lubbock. He enjoyed eating at Furr's, attending community fellowships and family reunions. He would have his faith over a cup of coffee at anytime with anyone who would listen. He loved hearing and telling jokes of all kinds, going to estate sales, being outdoors and listening to good music.
Howard is survived by his wife Madeliene, one sister, Sue Stahl of Lubbock, daughters, Denice Mitchell of Granbury and Debra Henderson of Lubbock, sons, Howard Griffin of Idalou and Adam Griffin of Oregon. He was blessed to have nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00pm Thursday March 23, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in McAdoo, Texas. Visitations will be from 6-7 P.M Wednesday March 22, 2017 at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton. Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of McAdoo, Texas.
