Freda "Imogene" Purkeypile Latham passed away on April 18, 2024 in Lewisville, TX. Per her request, she will be cremated and taken back to Crosbyton,TX where her remains will be interred next to her beloved husband, her mom and two sisters. A memorial gospel singing and concert will planned for later at the assisted living facility where she resided. Imogene was born May 28, 1928 in Eureka, KS to Rose and Richard Purkeypile. She graduated Mulberry High School in Mulberry, AR in 1946 and was a member of the yearbook staff. She married Ed Latham on August 1, 1948 in Crosbyton, TX. They later moved to Dallas, TX in 1957 where they raised their three sons. After the death of her husband in 1972, she attended El Centro College in Dallas and became an LVN. Imogene loved her family and wrote many stories and poems about them. She enjoyed being outside in nature, watching her red birds.  Church and southern gospel music were very important to her and she enjoyed sharing both with others. In her later years, while she was still able to drive, she took care of her two older sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Imogene is survived by her son Steve Latham and wife Joni of Denton, TX, son Michael Latham of Dallas, TX, son John Latham and wife Sheila of Arlington, TX, and granddaughter Ashley Finch.
